Magic right? What if I told you this was about 1% of the success stories I could share, and honestly, you could first-hand create these success stories yourself? You might think I’m crazy, or you might be very skeptical. First let me introduce myself, my name is Alyssa Johnson and I am a fitness professional at Max Training in Moorhead, MN and am NASM, IKFF Level 1, & Pn1 Certified (Precision Nutrition). I absolutely LOVE my Friday morning yoga class with Bridget at Lucent. I was an athlete, hockey, softball, and football player; I got injured, both knees and had a few surgeries.
I’ve lived in many places in the past ten years. Chicago being one of the coolest. This is where I was introduced to the “Square 1 System” by my trusted friend, Nile Bratcher. He performed Square 1 on me for 10 minutes and brought back my squats and pull ups, which I had been avoiding for a few months due to shoulder and low back pain. So, what is Square 1?

Just like a massage therapist, chiropractor, and doctor, the goal of Square 1 is to make you feel better. It does that by working at an organizational/neural level, through the use of manual muscle testing. Although in Square 1 lingo we like to use the term neuro-response testing, because that’s what we are doing, having a conversation with your nervous system. In order to make you feel better, we need to know where the problem begins, not just where the symptoms present. The problem is your brains’ signal to your joints are perceived as unsafe. Think of it like a giant pot-hole in the road; as a result, your brain rewires around the problem, just like a detour. These detours cause wear and tear on your tires, suck up more gas, and take more time. The same happens in your body when sensorimotor signals are compromised; we compensate. What Square 1 does, is remove this compensation, very simply, after we precisely pinpoint the joint action where it’s taking place.
In super simple terms, I tell people it’s corrective exercise for your brain. What blows them away is how simply, noninvasively changing your brain, can make you feel, move, run, jump, etc. All Square 1 aims to do is make you move better, unlocking resources that were closed off due to stress and trauma, and let the brain know it’s safe to call upon them. The results are astounding, and practicing the system has been life changing for me. I look forward to the many years ahead using this system to make people happier and healthier, and mostly pain free.
